The Broadway company of Billy Elliot will welcome back original star Gregory Jbara to his Tony Award winning role as Billy’s Dad beginning May 4 at the Imperial Theatre. Jbara rejoins the hit musical after a leave of absence that began in January. Philip Whitchurch will play his final performance on May 2.
Jbara’s numerous Broadway credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Victor/Victoria, Chicago and Damn Yankees. Regionally, he has appeared in Little Fish, Precious Sons, House That Jack Built, First LadySuite and Oscar and Felix. Film includes Remember Me, In & Out, Jeffrey, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Out-of-Towners. He has been seen on TV on Grounded for Life, That’s Life, Drew Carey, Monk, The Unit, Friends, West Wing, Without a Trace, Crossing Jordan, Ally McBeal, Malcolm in the Middle, Frasier and Family Guy.
Billy Elliot is the joyous celebration of one boy’s journey to make his dreams come true.
